“Tech representation is 10%. The government aims to hit 15% by the next five years but there is no way of meeting this goal without expanding outside of the standard talent pool,” said Einat Nemesh, Director at Google Israel. As the person responsible for heading the company’s diversity efforts, Nemesh joined CTech in Bnei Brak to discuss how she is making sure there are efforts both top-down and bottom-up to become more inclusive for traditionally underrepresented sectors.

“We announced a $25m fund for tech education for underrepresented groups: Arabs, ultra-Orthodox, women, to help and to encourage tech education for diverse pipelines,” she continued. “We are trying to pave the way and help to have more opportunities so we can hire more people outside of the standard talent pool.”
