“We are trying to create a startup nation, not to move to the Negev but actually, to be created in the Negev,” said Arnon Columbus, CEO at InNegev during an interview with CTech at the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ event hosted by Unistream last week. “That is because right now, startup nation is mostly in the center and so in order to create that in the Negev we have to invest a lot of effort to create the ecosystem, bring the academy, researchers, international industries, and to create this ecosystem to be attractive for young startups and entrepreneurs.”

Backed by the Israeli Innovation Authority’s Peripheral Incubators Program, InNegev is an incubator dedicated to fostering Israeli innovation and generating a vibrant new growth model for the Negev region.

Unistream trains thousands of youth from the periphery from all sectors, and offers them a real and worthwhile opportunity to succeed in life, develop a meaningful career and integrate into the business world in the future. Together with a huge business community numbering 4,700 senior business executives, Unistream trainees establish start-up companies while still in high school, and turn an idea into a groundbreaking venture with the aim of making a difference in the world.
