"We are not following trends or hype cycles. The common thing about all our investments is strong differentiated teams going after big markets. We understand that the stage we invest in is very early so they are going to pivot at least a couple of times. But we are very comfortable with that," said Boaz Shedletsky, Founder and Managing Partner at Mensch Capital Partners, speaking to CTech during Calcalist’s Tech on the Beach event in Tel Aviv this week.

Mensch Capital Partners is a venture capital firm focused on global pre-Seed and Seed investments with an Israeli affiliation. Mensch was founded by cybersecurity entrepreneur Shedletsky, and counts Assaf Rappaport, co-founder of unicorn Wiz, and Assaf Wand, founder of Hippo, as LPs and investment committee members. Harel Insurance is the anchor LP of the fund.

Recent investments by Mensch include Nilos, a company developing a custodial wallet for crypto and fiat accounts, and Addressable, an end-to-end solution for Web3 marketing.

"We invest in strong founders, both pre-Seed and Seed, but always first checks," explained Shedletsky. "What we like to do is to build the foundation of the company, helping the founders with hiring, business development, validating the need, and so forth.

"What works for us very well is to identify founders with an edge, either technical capabilities or a team that has been working together for a while and they really want to solve big problems," added Shedletsky. "Once this intersection appears we can invest even pre-idea and basically help them validate the need and the vector that they are going after."
