“The word ‘robot’ was invented more than 100 years ago. But everyone is still waiting for them. It's not a new idea but nobody has found the right pace,” explained Vlad Zaharov, Founder and CEO at Tider. “At Tider, we think we found the right use case where we can start, where we can create this market.”

Zaharov spoke to CTech at Calcalist and LeumiTech’s Early on the Spot conference about the company’s robot that helps tidy homes by collecting objects from the floor and putting them in baskets - claiming to be an upgrade from the iRobot Roomba that first hit markets 20 years ago.

Today, the robot can tidy objects roughly 10cm in size and does not touch objects that might be dangerous, such as glass or other delicate items. “It is something nobody has done and this is only the first step towards what everyone dreams about - a robot that will prepare you breakfast,” he added.
