Spotify down: Streaming app hit by global outage
Search and streaming issues leave users across the US and Europe in silence.
Spotify users around the world reported a glitch in the app on Wednesday that prevented them from listening to music and accessing other content on the platform.
According to Downdetector, a website that tracks service outages, more than 40,000 users reported problems, with those affected being located across the United States and parts of Europe.
The streaming service confirmed the disruption on social media, saying: "We're aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!"

Users said that while they were still able to play music previously downloaded to their devices, they could not search for new content or access certain existing features. Attempting to search for a song, artist, or other material would often cause the app to disconnect and display an error message.
