Iran targets Microsoft Be’er Sheva offices, damages residential complex
The strike follows earlier hospital attack; Revolutionary Guards cite military-cyber ties.
A missile launched from Iran struck Be’er Sheva on Friday morning, just one day after a devastating attack on Soroka Hospital in the city. Significant destruction was again recorded at the impact site, but according to Magen David Adom, no fatalities have been reported. Soroka Hospital stated that seven people with light injuries were evacuated following the strike, most of them hurt while running to shelters or by the blast wave.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that Microsoft’s offices in Be’er Sheva were deliberately targeted due to what they described as “close collaboration with the Israeli military.” The group alleged that the site is “part of the system supporting aggression - not merely a civilian entity.” According to the statement, the targeted cyber zone also includes residences of individuals involved in intelligence and artificial intelligence operations, who allegedly work in direct cooperation with the Israeli military and security apparatus.
Tovi Nachon, whose home was damaged by the missile blast, described the moment of the attack. “We were asleep in the safe room. We closed the door, everything as usual, and then there was a significant boom. We smelled burning and dust everywhere. The house is completely totaled. I went outside and was stunned. Thankfully, I had clothes in the safe‑room closet.”
