As the enterprise rush toward generative AI adoption accelerates, so too does a quieter but no less consequential reckoning: how to govern and secure the deluge of content now flowing across internal systems, third-party platforms, and customer-facing channels. Into this breach steps Bonfy.AI, a Tel Aviv-based startup that has just emerged from stealth mode with $9.5 million in Seed funding led by TLV Partners, with participation from Haim Saban’s Saban Capital Group.

Unlike traditional Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools, long criticized for overwhelming security teams with false positives and missing critical threats, Bonfy’s platform, called Bonfy Adaptive Content Security (Bonfy ACS), uses business logic and behavioral context to flag and remediate risks in both human- and AI-generated content. These risks include the exposure of sensitive intellectual property, violations of regulatory mandates, and trust-breaking customer communication.

Founded in early 2024 by seasoned cybersecurity entrepreneurs Gidi Cohen and Danny Kibel, Bonfy is betting that the current generation of security tools is ill-equipped for the GenAI era. Cohen, who serves as CEO, was previously the founder and long-time CEO of Skybox Security, a cyber analytics firm whose technology was deployed across over 500 Global 2000 companies and acquired by private equity in 2018 for $375 million. Kibel, Bonfy’s CTO, was CEO of identity management firm Idaptive, acquired by CyberArk, where he led its expansion to over 2,000 customers globally before heading global R&D at the acquirer.

“As the volume of content generated by GenAI grows exponentially, the need for robust and comprehensive oversight is critical. Without it, companies face significant risks that can be detrimental to their business,” said Gidi Cohen, CEO and Co-Founder of Bonfy. “With Bonfy ACS, we will transform content security for both AI and human-generated content, enabling organizations to take full advantage of AI tools while ensuring their content is secure, compliant, and trustworthy.”

Bonfy is particularly targeting regulated and security-conscious verticals such as healthcare, finance, insurance, law, and media, where compliance mandates and reputational risk often collide with a push to innovate with AI. The company says early use cases include analyzing outbound emails and attachments, securing content generated in SaaS applications like Microsoft 365, and enforcing governance policies across GenAI deployments.
