
Verbit reduces headcount again amid AI transition
The $600M-funded transcription startup eliminates 22 roles, including 10 in Israel.
Verbit, which develops digital transcription solutions, has laid off 22 employees, including 10 in Israel. The company currently employs around 500 staff worldwide, including contractors engaged in transcription work.

According to the company, the layoffs are part of a streamlining process tied to the integration of artificial intelligence into workflows, as well as organizational adjustments aimed at supporting business operations.
This marks Verbit’s fourth round of layoffs in recent years. In March 2024, the company cut dozens of jobs, 20 of them in Israel. In July 2023, it dismissed 30 employees, and in July 2022, it let go of 10% of its workforce. Last year, founder Tom Livne stepped down as CEO to become chairman.
