The Israeli company D-ID, specializing in interactive avatars, is acquiring simpleshow, a German video pioneer that incorporates AI agents capable of conducting face-to-face conversations. D-ID has completed a fundraising round of tens of millions of dollars to finance the acquisition. The deal is valued at approximately $60 million. Simpleshow has roughly twice as many employees as D-ID, which currently employs 65 people and has offices in Tel Aviv and New York. Completion of the merger is expected in the fourth quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approval.

The acquisition will allow D-ID to integrate its interactive avatars with simpleshow’s corporate video products, creating a unified solution for two-way, natural communication that simulates human conversation for large organizations.

Simpleshow, headquartered in Berlin, employs approximately 130 people and has offices across the U.S. The company serves more than 1,350 enterprise customers, including 500 Fortune 1000 companies such as Microsoft, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Mercedes, Colgate, eBay, and BMW. The pre-acquisition partnership between the two companies has already demonstrated success: upsells and new deals were closed with clients including Apple, Daimler, Porsche, Nestlé, and Tata. Additionally, D-ID has issued quotes to over 140 additional simpleshow customers. The simpleshow team, about 60 sales and growth professionals based in Europe and the U.S., will lead marketing for the combined platform.

During a visit by simpleshow management to Israel for merger discussions, the outbreak of the war with Iran stranded the German executives in Tel Aviv due to flight suspensions. Amid alarms and explosions, including near D-ID’s headquarters, the sides said that the crisis strengthened the relationship.
