“The intersection between AI disruption and the growing exponential demand for energy is very promising”

“In the recent year or so, we learned a lot about the AI disruption, and how it is penetrating consumers,” explained Roee Furman, Managing Director at Doral Energy-Tech Ventures. “People use a lot of AI tools… We even write some of our emails or LinkedIn posts through ChatGPT, right?”

Furman was speaking to CTech at Mind The Tech. Doral Energy-Tech Ventures is the corporate innovation and investment arm of Doral Group, a renewable energy developer. When discussing AI disruption, he highlights how much energy is used to help us with all our techie needs.

“These things consume tons of energy,” he added. “So the intersection between AI disruption and the growing exponential demand for energy is quite interesting. For example, you can think about hyperscalers and data centers; eventually, all of these are giant consumers of energy. So anything in the intersection between energy infrastructure to support these data centers… be it from extended servers, be it from energy consumption, or how we optimize this energy consumption… think these areas are very promising and very exciting.”
