Cybersecurity venture capital firm Cyberstarts has raised a new $380 million fund to continue backing its portfolio companies as they scale.

The fund, called Opportunity Fund II, will provide follow-on capital to startups that began with Cyberstarts at the Seed stage and are now entering periods of rapid expansion. It marks another milestone in what has been a record fundraising year for the firm, which also launched a $300 million employee liquidity fund earlier in 2025. With the addition of this latest vehicle, Cyberstarts has secured more than $700 million in fresh commitments this year and now manages over $1.4 billion across seven funds.

Gili Raanan. Gili Raanan. Gili Raanan.

Founded in 2018 by investor Gili Raanan, Cyberstarts has built a reputation for making high-conviction bets at the earliest stages of company formation. Its strategy relies on identifying founders before they even have a product and pairing them with an advisory network of chief information security officers (CISOs).

That model has already produced a string of market-shaping companies. Wiz, the cloud security startup in which Cyberstarts invested in 2020, agreed earlier this year to be acquired by Google for $32 billion, one of the largest cybersecurity deals in history. Fireblocks, focused on securing digital assets, has reached an $8 billion valuation. Island, developer of the enterprise browser, is now valued near $5 billion, while Cyera, a data security company using artificial intelligence, has reached a $6 billion valuation.

Other portfolio companies, including Axis Security, Avalor, Bionic, Dazz, Noname, and Trail, have all been acquired in recent years.

The firm also expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Pete Chronis as an operating partner. Chronis has previously served as chief information security officer at major media and telecommunications companies including Paramount, WarnerMedia, Turner Broadcasting, and EarthLink. He is also the author of several books on cybersecurity and currently serves on the board of Cyera. In addition, the team now includes general partners Dor Knafo, Hila Zigman, Lior Simon, and Gili Raanan, and operating partner Adam Aarons.
