Vast Data, the fast-growing AI infrastructure company founded by Israeli entrepreneurs Renen Hallak and Shachar Fienblit, has entered a strategic partnership with Shonfeld Data Services (SDS) to power what is being described as Israel’s most advanced sovereign AI infrastructure.

SDS, which dominates more than 70% of Israel’s colocation market, is developing a national-scale AI cloud ecosystem to serve both Israeli and international enterprises. The system will be built on Vast’s AI Operating System, technology designed to unify data management, computation, and model deployment at massive scale.

With plans to integrate thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and dozens of petabytes of Vast-powered data infrastructure, the project is set to become one of the largest AI infrastructure efforts ever built in Israel.

“AI will define Israel’s next chapter as a technology leader, and AI infrastructure is the next frontier for Israel’s digital economy,” said Danny Bilitski, general manager of SDS. “The AI market is set to be exponentially larger than the cybersecurity market was before it, and SDS is at the forefront of ensuring Israel’s position as a global AI powerhouse.”

Founded in 2016, Vast Data has quietly become one of the most valuable AI infrastructure startups in the world. As reported in August, the company is raising several billion dollars at a valuation of up to $30 billion, in a round led by Nvidia and Alphabet’s growth arm CapitalG.

The company surpassed $200 million in annual recurring revenue this year and is projected to triple that figure by 2026.

“Our partnership with SDS demonstrates how nations can pair world-class talent with world-class infrastructure to build truly sovereign AI ecosystems,” said Peter Gadd, International Vice President at Vast Data.
