Classiq raises $30M from AMD, Qualcomm, and IonQ as quantum software race accelerates

The Israeli firm’s hardware-agnostic platform draws top tech and financial investors.

Classiq, which develops quantum computing software, has raised tens of millions of dollars in an up-round with participation from AMD Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures and IonQ, alongside major financial institutions including the Korean giant Mirae Asset Capital, LeumiTech77 by Bank Leumi and Quantum Eretz. The company did not disclose the exact amount that was raised, but it is estimated to be around $30 million.

The company has raised more than $200 million to date, including the current round. Just six months ago, Classiq completed a $110 million Series C round, which was later joined by SoftBank with an additional $10 million investment.

Classiq has developed an operating system and development environment that enable any organization to build quantum applications in an abstract, hardware-agnostic manner. The company maintains partnerships with NVIDIA, Microsoft, and AWS, and its customer base includes BMW Group, Comcast, Rolls-Royce, Citi, Toshiba, and SoftBank, among others. Classiq employs 100 people, 75 of whom are based in Israel.

The company was founded in 2020 by Minerbi, who serves as CEO; Amir Naveh, CPO; and Dr. Yehuda Naveh, CTO. Minerbi and Naveh are graduates of the elite Talpiot program, while Dr. Naveh spent two decades at the IBM Research Center in Haifa, where he worked on computer-aided design (CAD) technologies and quantum computing software. At IBM, he founded and led the quantum computing team at the Haifa center as part of the global group that developed IBM Q and its accompanying software environment.
