Elbit Systems awarded $600 million contract to supply Australian army with systems for IFVs

This project aims to deliver advanced protection, fighting capabilities and a sensor suite to the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV) the Australian army is acquiring from South Korean company Hanwha

Elbit Systems announced on Monday that it has been awarded a contract worth approximately $600 million to supply systems to Hanwha Defense Australia for the Australian Land 400 Phase 3 Project. This project aims to deliver advanced protection, fighting capabilities and a sensor suite to the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV) acquired by the Australian army from South Korean company Hanwha. The contract will be performed over a period of five years.

The Redback integrates the Redback Turret which is based on the latest generation of Elbit Systems’ 30 mm manned turret with the COAPS gunner sight, additional electro-optic systems, Iron Fist active protection system, Elbit Systems’ Iron-Vision advanced situational awareness head mounted display system and Elbit Systems’ ELAWS laser warning system.
