Roey Izkovsky, co-founder and CTO of startup company Simply (formerly JoyTunes), passed away unexpectedly on Sunday at the age of 44. Izkovsky founded JoyTunes in 2011 with brothers Yigal Kaminka and Yuval Kaminka, the latter of whom serves as the company’s CEO and with whom Izkovsky served in unit 8200.
Simply is regarded as one of the world's most successful companies in the field of music learning apps. Recently, the company has expanded its offerings beyond music to include learning and training across various disciplines. Simply stands out as one of Israel's most successful companies specializing in B2C applications, as opposed to enterprise-focused solutions. It reached unicorn status in 2021 when it raised $50 million in Series D funding.
