Shaare Zedek Medical Center, through its innovation subsidiary Madait, and investment firm Arieli Capital, have launched the first cohort of their innovation hub, "SHAAR". The ten biomed companies presented have raised a total of $25 million.

SHAAR, located within Shaare Zedek Medical Center, provides startups with immediate proximity to physicians, data, and medical departments. For the first cohort of SHAAR, ten startups in the Seed to A stages were selected. The program, which concluded last week, was packed with 440 intensive business meetings and collaboration opportunities for clinical trials partnerships and funding opportunities.

SHAAR. SHAAR. SHAAR.

The selected companies tackled various medical concerns, such as lung cancer, brain stents, and post-surgical infections. The program's comprehensive framework will closely support the graduates for the coming months by providing business and clinical support and mentorship, a shared workspace within the medical center, and potential investment opportunities.

The program concluded with a Final Expo and Pitch Event held at Shaare Zedek's old building in Midtown Jerusalem, attracting a diverse group of investors, medical professionals, and senior government officials.

Renana Ofan, CEO of Shaare Zedek Scientific (Madait) stated: "Our goal is to assist entrepreneurs and startups by providing them with access to resources for developing their technologies, such as medical data, samples, pilot studies, clinical trials, and medical guidance. We are excited about the opportunity to promote leading and groundbreaking startups in smart medicine, to help patients and improve the face of medicine."

Or Haviv, Partner and Head of Innovation at Arieli Capital: "Innovation is the tool that makes humanity special - and each of the startups that have come to the program represents groundbreaking innovation in its field. Over the past week, each of the ten startups has participated in hundreds of business meetings all with a single goal - to save lives. Each of the startups participating in the first cohort of the SHAAR Innovation Program will change or save the lives of people around the world, all thanks to the technological and medical advancements that we are witnessing today."
