Israeli cybersecurity firm Mend.io has acquired Atom Security, an Israeli company specializing in cyber risk assessment. Atom Security was founded earlier this year and the acquisition is valued at several million dollars. This marks Mend's fifth acquisition in the last three years, totaling tens of millions of dollars.

Founded in 2011 as WhiteSource, Mend.io aims to assist developers in managing open-source libraries, mitigating security risks, and addressing open-source license concerns. To date, the company has secured $122 million in funding, including a $75 million Series D in April 2021. Its investors include 83North, Pitango Growth, M12 Fund, and Susquehanna Growth Equity.
Mend.io, with 291 employees, has 200 based in Israel. Atom's co-founders—Ariel Shuper, Amit Chita, and Bar-El Tayouri—will join Mend.io's Cloud Native division.
