“Vehicles are becoming software-defined,” says Mobilitech Capital
Orlie Gruper, General Partner at Mobilitech Capital, spoke to CTech at AI 2024 about the future of mobility.
“AI is affecting different aspects, one of which is how we're developing vehicles today,” said Orlie Gruper, General Partner at Mobilitech Capital. “With the acceleration of software development, the vehicle is becoming software-defined. So a lot of those software are really enhanced by AI capabilities and also the capabilities of the vehicle itself.”
Grouper joined CTech to discuss Mobilitech Capital, which is an early-stage focused mobility fund. The fund explores investment in anything from vehicles, traffic management, insurance, or even real estate. Anything that is impacted by moving from A to B is of interest for Gruper and the team.
“The one I'm most excited about because it's going to touch really our lives is the journey experience,” she said when asked about what the future of mobility may look like. “So you walk into a vehicle and then the vehicle will be able to understand you and personalize the journey for you and really be an assistant. Today we have our phones, we manage 95% of our lives with them. With this AI autonomy and the vehicle as a software platform, we can do so much during that dead time that you know it's going to become much more productive.”
