"You can't just focus on the US, Japan is a significant market for a company that is scaling up"
"When companies reach a certain maturity level of tens of millions of dollars, it's the right time to go out and address the Japanese market," Yair Cassuto, General Partner at Pitango First, told CTech at the Israel-Japan Conference in Tokyo
"Pitango's relationship with Japan started 27 years ago when we started working with one of the largest Japanese corporations," Yair Cassuto, General Partner at Pitango First, told CTech at the Israel-Japan Conference in Tokyo.
"What we've seen throughout the years is a very significant opportunity of creating business and innovation partnerships between the Israeli and Japanese ecosystems. In cybersecurity it happened with an old portfolio company of ours, Forescout, that forged a partnership here in Japan and more recently companies like Via which has been able to create a footprint in the Japanese market.
"When companies reach a certain maturity level of tens of millions of dollars, it's the right time to go out and address the Japanese market. You can't just focus on the U.S. market. With Japan being the third largest market in the world, it's a significant target market for every portfolio company that scales up."
