“Supersonic Growth”: Base44 set to hit $50M ARR just months after Wix acquisition

From a few million in June to $40–$50 million by year-end, Base44’s rise puts Wix on a new growth trajectory as it eyes a $100M milestone from the vibe coding platform.

Wix’s $40–50 million ARR forecast for Base44, just weeks after acquiring the AI-powered app-building platform, is already reshaping the company’s growth trajectory.

“This is a supersonic level of growth in just a matter of weeks,” CEO Avishai Abrahami told investors after the Israeli website builder raised its full-year revenue and ARR guidance on Wednesday. “And we don't expect this momentum to slow as we accelerate towards the $100 million ARR milestone \[for Base44\].”

Base44, acquired in June for an estimated $80 million, lets developers, product teams, and DIY users build full-stack applications using natural language prompts, offering Wix a gateway into enterprise workflows and low-code app creation far beyond its traditional website builder business. The platform is now projected to generate $40–50 million in ARR by the end of 2025, up from “just a few million” when the deal closed.

“Base44 gives us immediate access to a completely new audience,” Abrahami said. “This includes developers, design and product teams, enterprises building internal tools, and DIY users building applications, not just websites.”

The cost of the acquisition of Base44 may increase if the company, founded by Maor Shlomo, meets revenue targets by 2029. Shlomo, a 31-year-old programmer, built the platform shortly after he completed an extended reserve duty following the October 7 attacks. He made a swift and lucrative exit as the sole shareholder of a company with fewer than 10 employees.

Wix’s updated guidance reflected the Base44 momentum: revenue is now expected to grow 14–16% year over year in 2025, compared to a previous range of 13–15%. ARR is forecast to reach $1.79–1.81 billion, slightly above earlier estimates.

But the company sees Base44 not just as a standalone growth driver, but as a long-term extension of Wix’s infrastructure and product suite.

“Wix can provide the robust infrastructure that vibe coding platforms need to scale,” Abrahami said. “This includes hosting capabilities, security framework, GDPR compliance, payments processing, marketing automation and more.”

He added that the combination positions Wix to lead in what he described as the next era of online creation: “The future of building online is in the combination of intuitive visual editing with flexible vibe coding.”

“This isn't just about entering an attractive market, it's about recognizing early enough that vibe coding represents the future of how applications will be built,” Abrahami said.

Second-quarter revenue rose 15% year over year to $471.1 million. GAAP net income was $28.5 million, with operating income of $53.5 million and an 11.4% margin, up from 10.3% in the prior quarter. Wix ended the quarter with $1.2 billion in cash and reaffirmed its goal of reaching a 20% free cash flow margin by the end of 2025.

Wix also noted that Base44 complements its broader strategy to expand its total addressable market.

“Growing our TAM is the core pillar of our long-term growth strategy,” Abrahami said. “We are also unlocking completely new markets such as vibe coding.”
