“Technology modernizes and democratizes the fintech industry”
Meirav Har-Noy, Founder and Managing Partner at Moneta VC, spoke to CTech about industries that are ripe for innovation, such as payments, wealth management, and embedded finance
“I think a lot of data science technologies are applicable to fintech,” Meirav Har-Noy, Founder and Managing Partner at Moneta VC, told CTech. “When you think about modern fintech, technology modernizes and democratizes the industry.”
Moneta VC was founded roughly 10 years ago and has a portfolio of approximately 30 companies dedicated to the fintech and insurtech spaces. Among the industries that Har-Noy believes are ripe for innovation are payments, wealth management, and embedded finance. In 2021, fintech accounted for 17% out of the country’s $27 billion worth of investment.
“Instead of having risk models that only existed in banks, technology allows you to have those pretty much available to companies that want to offer those services themselves,” she continued. “I think that’s what made Israel so great - alongside the great entrepreneurial spirit that exists here.”
