Intel CEO: "The strength, resilience and resolve of Intel Israel's team has no bounds"
High-stakes meeting and Lip-Bu Tan’s letter point to Israel’s enduring role in the company’s most advanced chip design.
Earlier this week, hundreds of Intel development managers gathered at the company’s Haifa campus for a rare and carefully timed meeting, led by Karin Eibschitz Segal, Corporate Vice President and co-GM of Intel Israel, and Yaron Alankry, VP & General Manager, Client Development Group at Intel. The message from the top was clear: despite the painful round of layoffs sweeping through Intel Israel, the local development centers remain at the heart of Intel’s most advanced chip projects.

According to a source who attended the meeting and spoke with Calcalist, Eibschitz Segal and Alankry emphasized that under the leadership of CEO Lip-Bu Tan, Israel continues to secure significant and strategic new projects. One of the clearest examples is the Panther Lake processor, expected to be Intel’s most advanced chip for laptops, which is being developed under the direct leadership of the Israeli team. The new chip is slated for release in the coming months and underscores how crucial the Haifa center remains to Intel’s core business in client computing.
The reassurances come at a tense time for Intel Israel’s workforce, which has been hit by cuts across management layers, operations, and support teams. But Intel executives stressed that alongside the layoffs, Israel’s engineering strength and track record of delivering some of Intel’s flagship technologies make the local centers indispensable.
Lip-Bu Tan’s personal involvement has been felt far beyond new project approvals. About three weeks ago, during Israel’s war with Iran, he sent a personal letter to all Intel Israel employees.
