"We need a platform to authenticate what is being said online"

"We were selected to authenticate all the bots and spam accounts on Twitter. We looked at millions of profiles and found around 11% to be fake accounts, and that is just from a random sample," said Assaf Danby, VP Global Sales at Cyabra

"People are looking at social media to ingest information and news, but we need a platform to authenticate what is being said online,” said Assaf Danby, VP Global Sales at Cyabra, speaking to CTech at Calcalist's Tech TLV conference.

When asked about their recent deal with Twitter, Danby replied “what I can share is that we were selected to authenticate all the bots and spam accounts on the platform. We looked at millions of profiles and found around 11% to be fake accounts, and that is just from a random sample.“

Cayabra is a platform that gathers open source intelligence data from social media and traditional media and identifies fake accounts and fake campaigns that have the potential to manipulate public opinion. According to Danby: “I can create a fake account and manipulate your opinion on any given topic.”

Calcalist's annual Tech TLV conference, in partnership with Phoenix Insurance, showcased leading trends and companies in the field of data, technology and innovation.
