This is the third round of layoffs in Unity in a year, with around 200 staff losing their jobs in June 2022 and 284 employees parting ways with the company in January of this year. According to the report, Unity is also reducing the number of offices it has around the world from 58 to less than 30.

Unity and ironSource officially completed their merger last November, with Unity rejecting along the way an offer from gaming software company AppLovin to acquire the company for $17.54 billion. Unity instead chose to go ahead with its $4.4 billion all-stock deal to merge with the Israeli-founded mobile app monetization company.
