“Jerusalem of today is a high-tech hub. It is a city with more than 650 tech companies, employing over 22,000 people,” Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion said at Calcalist’s Mind the Tech 2022 conference in New York. “In Jerusalem we continue to work with international companies and local startups to promote the Jerusalem innovation ecosystem. We are building over one million square meters of new high-tech work and office space across the city over the next three years. We have in our universities in Jerusalem around 50,000 students studying technology, life science, medicine, design and more. They are the oxygen for the growing innovation companies that are expanding all the time.”

Regarding the diverse population of his city, the mayor said, “In the Jerusalem of 2022, nobody can be left behind. We will succeed together. As Mayor of Jerusalem I am taking responsibility and putting the resources of the city into bridging gaps and opening up the benefits of the high-tech revolution to all the communities of Jerusalem.”
