“You should invest for the right reasons, not because of FOMO or because others are doing it”
"2022 showed us there are no shortcuts. Learning and moving into 2023 it is back to basics," added Jonny Saacks, Managing Partner at VC F2
“As a VC you always have two sides of the coin, your portfolio companies and new investments. We want to make sure our portfolio companies are in a healthy state, that they have good unit economics with scalable growth. On the other side of the coin, it is a good time to start new companies as existing companies are focused on survival and their core business so there is a lot of room for innovation,” explained Jonny Saacks, Managing Partner at venture capital fund F2, speaking to CTech at Calcalist and KPMG's Work after Work event.
F2 is a Seed stage fund, mainly focused on Israeli tech companies. It was founded in 2017 and is currently investing from its third fund of $150 million.

When asked to sum up 2022 in one sentence, Saacks replied: “2022 showed us there are no shortcuts. Learning and moving into 2023 it is back to basics. As an investor, you should invest for the right reasons; great entrepreneurs and founding teams, disruptive technologies and finally, potentially large markets, not because of FOMO or because others are doing it.“
