When calculating Israel's total solar capacity, you should include the total electric equivalent output of all the dude shemesh solar water boilers on the roofs of every house and apartment in Israel....does anyone out there have an estimate of how many megawatts it would take to heat all the water that is currently heated by all the rooftop boilers in Israel?

So frustrating since the 1950s-1970s Israel was a true leader in solar R&D, but perhaps due to their relative expensiveness compared even to imported fossil fuels, Israel has actually lagged behind Europe and many countries in installing solar plants inside the country while some Israeli companies put in many in places like California and elsewhere. Hope Israel now catches up.
