Many if not most automobile manufacturers now are reluctantly accepting the inevitability of the eventual paramouncy of the electric car (EV), and are trying to figure out how to make up for the losses anticipated in switching from internal combustion engine (ICE) cars to EV's. Self-driving EV taxis is now being seen as a possible profit center to make up for those anticipated losses. More and more car manufacturers are also going to become taxi companies as well. And Israel should be a leader in this emerging trend. The problem is what to do with the laid of taxi drivers, and that is going to be the huge challenge.
