1. Self-driving taxis. GM and other car manufacturers were desperately looking for a way to make money with electric cars once they realized that they could no longer block their proliferation. Then someone, perhaps Shashua or someone else, hit on the idea of driverless taxis as the answer. With driverless taxis running 24/7 with no driver payrolls, the possibly of vast profits from each car becomes mind-boggling. Of course the car companies will continue to sell their SUV's and pickup trucks in the US market, but the declining interest by millennials in owning ICE cars in particular has forced GM and others to rethink the future. Of course they will continue to sell cars, but increasingly turn parts of their business into "ride sharing" taxi services. One self driving taxi could easily pay itself off in a year or less with years of profitable usage thereafter. jgarbuz | 27.11.18 (ל"ת)
