Vi Technologies raised $20 million to develop and expand its artificial intelligence fitness business, the company announced last week, raising its total funding to almost $40 million. VentureBeat reported the deal first.

Investors included Joy Ventures, Squarepeg Capital, New Era, Cerca Capital, Triventures, Wellborn Ventures, and FGI Capital together, as well as a number of angel investors.Previously known as LifeBeam, the company originally focused on developing biosensing technology. Following a kickstarter campaign in 2016, Vi Technologies launched Vi, a voice-based, wearable AI fitness assistant.
