In a phone interview earlier this week, Ran Kaviti, director of the ministry’s Agency for Small and Mid-Sized Enterprises, told Calcalist that his office offers each business around NIS 10,000 (approximately $2,740) worth of consultation hours and assistance in setting up their online shop, for free. According to Kavity, this is a way for the government to assist businesses in finding new sources of revenue, without compromising the success of other local businesses. The ministry is now looking into expanding the program to additional industries, he added.
