MinuteMedia Acquires The Big Lead From Gannett
Goldman Sachs-backed MinuteMedia is the publisher of several sports news websites

London-headquartered sports media company MinuteMedia Ltd. has acquired sports website The Big Lead, a subsidiary of New York-listed media company Gannett Co., Inc., the companies announced Friday.
Originally founded in Israel in 2011, MinuteMedia employs 180 people globally, according to Pitchbook data. In May, the company announced the completion of a $17 million funding round participated by Goldman Sachs. The company has raised $77 million to date, according to company statements.

The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Founded in 2006 by Jason McIntyre of Fox Sports, The Big Lead is also known as BigLeadSports. MinuteMedia is the publisher behind several sports news outlets, including 90min, a soccer website, and 12up, focused on major U.S. sports leagues. The outlets feature curated user-generated content. The company’s content is viewed by more than 80 million unique users a month, according to company data. The company lists Sports Illustrated, USA Today and MSN as partners.
