The new feature is the result of Uber’s collaboration with Israel-based public transit app developer Moovit App Global Ltd., which started three months ago. Uber will leverage Moovit’s application programming interface to provide Londoners with public transportation information in addition to the carpooling options the company has been offering. Uber started offering the same app feature earlier this year in Denver, Colorado.

Founded in 2012 and based in central Israel, Moovit develops a free mobile navigation app that offers real-time public transit information in 2,800 cities and 90 countries. Its app has over 430 million users, adding to the company’s database of over 7,000 public transportation operators.
