GoHeja and OpenValley host ‘Virtual Sports’ meeting for sports-lovers during Covid-19

Sports administration software company GoHeja recently hosted a ‘virtual sports’ meeting OpenValley Entrepreneurship Network, which is also helping them with their business mentoring. The company, which was founded by entrepreneur Sagiv Daniel in 2015, develops a system for endurance coaches, sports clubs, and athletes to help with their long-term goals.

"The initiative to hold the meeting was born out of a demand that arose from the field,” explained Daniel, who also serves as GoHeja’s Chief Technology Officer. “The new routine imposed on coaches during the Covid-19 period, summoned significant challenges, including the need to adapt to training under daily restrictions and meetings, especially the desire to be there for athletes - even remotely."

Daniel is a seasoned computer engineer and two-time winner of the ‘Ironman’ challenge, a triathlon consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride, and a marathon 26-mile run. “Sports and technology are our passion, we are sports lovers... and some of us devoutly do sports on the weekends,” he added.

The meeting featured dozens of fitness and sports coaches from a variety of industries to discuss innovation in the time of Covid-19. Due to the ongoing pandemic, millions of sports-lovers were forced into their homes and were deprived of their chance to remain fit and active outdoors.

“OpenValley is looking for innovative niches in the entrepreneurial world and is happy to add startups to its ranks that develop creative technological solutions in diverse industries such as construction-tech and sports-tech, where we see the great local and global potential," explained Shiri Green-Elgavish, CEO of OpenValley. The coworking space, which is located in the Israeli town of Ramat Yishai, helps entrepreneurs and individuals share resources, ideas, support, and feedback. It most recently invested $1.5 million in YORAN Imaging for its thermal imaging technlogy.

The tools offered by GoHeja include GamePlan, which allows app users to view long-term goals and break them down into tangible goals, and a unique calendar that helps them strategize their routines. It also helps athletes according to their needs, such as age, level of experience, and unique weaknesses.
