Content discovery platform Taboola has announced a deal with BBC Global News, home of the organizations’ commercial international news, sport, and features content, becoming the publisher’s exclusive recommendations provider. Each month, BBC.com welcomes 145 million unique browsers each month and the Taboola Feed will be integrated at the bottom of pages to offer more personalized and engaging content. Taboola replaces fellow Israeli company Outbrain, which had previously provided BBC the service.

BBC News is one of the world’s most trusted international news broadcasters and reaches approximately 438 million people around the world via its TV, online, apps, and social media presence. Taboola’s technology will be available outside of the UK, which is where the publisher is commercially funded. Those living in the UK who pay for the BBC via their taxes will not be exposed to the tool at the bottom of their web pages.

Each month, it serves 450 billion recommendations to more than 1.4 billion unique visitors on publishing sites such as NBC, USA Today, The Atlantic, Fox Sports, and others. Its algorithms recommend editorial and sponsored content, helping publishers monetize their content and drive higher engagement.
