U.S. company Delinea, which provides Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Israeli startup Authomize, which has developed a platform that detects and eliminates identity-based threats across the cloud. The value of the deal was not revealed, but is estimated at several tens of millions of dollars. The deal included cash and stock so that the investors in Authomize received back the sum of their investment without profit, while the startup founders mainly received Delinea shares.

Authomize employs 38 people who will join Delinea and form the base of its R&D center in Israel. Delinea, which is also a private company held by TPG, plans to expand the center.

Authomize, founded in late 2019 by CEO Dotan Bar-Noy, CTO Gal Diskin and VP R&D Ron Liberman, raised $28 million over a couple of rounds to date. Its last round in 2021 was led by Innovation Endeavours, with other investors including Microsoft’s M12, Blumberg Capital, and Entrée Capital.

The continuous discovery and visibility capabilities of Authomize will extend the Delinea platform’s reach for comprehensive privileged controls in the cloud while expanding its role to provide a strong defense against identity-based attacks such as account takeovers, insider threats, and lateral movement.

“The combination of Delinea and Authomize gives customers the power to detect and mitigate active identity threats across SaaS applications, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure,” said Art Gilliland, CEO at Delinea.
