The first flight to Shenzhen from Tel Aviv will take off on February 22, and the final flight to Guangzhou will depart on February 19, a company spokesperson said in an interview with Calcalist Thursday. There will be two weekly flights from Tel Aviv to Shenzhen aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
About a 30 minutes bullet train ride away from both Hong Kong and Guangzhou, Shenzhen serves as Hainan Airlines’ hub. Chinese telecommunications company Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Tencent Holdings Ltd. are both headquartered in the city.
Hainan is China’s fourth-largest airline. The company operates 1,800 routes and already operates four weekly flights from Tel Aviv-Beijing, and three weekly flights connecting Tel Aviv and Shanghai.
